Ondo West LGA, Ondo State

Ondo West Local Government Area (LGA), with headquarters in Ondo Town[1], is a major local government within Ondo Central Senatorial District[2] In Ondo State, Nigeria. The Ondo West has its senatorial District to be Ondo Central Senatorial District. It was created in 1996 from the division of the former Ondo Local Government. It covers an area of 970 square kilometers.[3] With a population of about 288,868 (2006 census) and is projected to be 443,800 in 2022, giving it a population density of 548 people per square kilometer.

The LGA's economy thrives on agriculture, with crops like cassava, cocoa, and palm oil being central, while trade and artisanal craftsmanship also contribute significantly. Ondo West is recognized for its commitment to education, hosting three notable institutions
