Ifedore LGA, Ondo State

Ifedore LGA, headquartered in Igbara-Oke[1], lies within the Ondo Central Senatorial District. Covering an area of 366.8 square kilometers, it had a population of 176,327 in 2006, projected to grow to 276,800 by 2022[2], resulting in a population density of 754.5 people per square kilometer[3]

Ifedore is primarily an agrarian region, with cassava, yam, maize, and cocoa as the major crops. The LGA also has a growing trade and small-scale industrial sector. Its strategic location near Akure facilitates economic growth and enhances access to markets. 

Ifedore celebrates traditional festivals such as the Ijesu Festival (New Yam Festival)[4] with pomp and pageantry. The people of Ifedore are predominantly Yoruba and are known for their warm hospitality and strong community bonds.
